Bob opened a coffee house in the early 70′s during the Jesus movement, then became a program director with YFC (Youth for Christ). He founded In His Service Ministries in 1983. IHS proved to be a launching pad that enabled Bob to lead short-term mission trips and conduct seminars on Lifestyle Witnessing and a School of Prayer.
This led to the networking of churches together in prayer during the 1990′s in Calgary and Edmonton while serving as a pastor in those cities. Following his years of pastoring he built a prayer center.
For the past 13 years Bob has been involved at The Chapel at West Edmonton Mall, and is ministering as an Urban Worker with Mission Canada equipping believers in personal witnessing, hosting Lovedmonton Prayerline, and conducting Prayer Clinics.
Delivered out of the drug/occult culture, and soon found herself as a leader in the Jesus People Movement of the early 70’s, which saw hundreds of young people come to the Lord. In-between being a wife and a mother of three girls she helped plant and co-pastor the Church of Abundant Life where she has been Lead Pastor for many years Abundant Life Church has been involved in many unity measures and outreach in the city and the Nation, as well as a strong mission emphasis, which has people on the field in Alberta (first Nations), Kazakhstan and Rwanda. Along with her daughters she is blessed with three son-in-laws and eight grandchildren who are all part of the Assembly.
Ray and Elaine are Lead Pastors at New Destiny Church in Edmontons’ downtown core. Their years in ministry have seen them in various ministry roles in large and small Churches, since beginning in ministry in Central Alberta in 1978. Besides Church roles, they were also part of the early launch years of The Miracle Channel, Canada’s first Christian Television Station in Lethbridge, AB. Their heart for missions has seen them travel in short term mission excursions to countries in Asia, India, Africa and Mexico. Elaine also served as School Chaplain at Fort Saskatchewan Christian School for 8 years. They married in ‘76 and have 3 adult children, all of whom are married, and have 5 awesome grandchildren. In his spare time Ray likes to hunt with his bird dog, and backpack in the mountains and trails of the Canadian wilderness.
